This was my parting photo as I left Dean Frye's Magnolia Welcome Dock in New Martinsville. That's Dean and his wife's house and back porch in the background.

This was the second day of a two day fishing tournament headquartered at St. Mary's, West Virginia. The tournament was the 29th annual West Virginia Bass Tournament. Around 150 boats and two man teams took part. In this photo you can see one bass boat, but in the background on the right, you can see two more.

This is a photo of one of the many islands I passed today. The islands make up the Ohio River Wildlife Refuge. You're allowed to visit these islands, but not to camp or build fires on them.

I stopped in Sistersville, WV to get something to eat and saw this mural on the side of a building.

I love this sign, "Free Beer next dock". When I stopped to take a photo, the folks living there came to the dock and we talked for a while.

Once past St. Marys, I stopped on the Ohio side at The Jug to get a milkshake and fountain drink. The Jug has their own dock for boaters.

I left Hannibal Locks in the morning, and locked through Willow Island Lock in the evening.

I arrived at Marietta, Ohio a little after 8:00 and then took the kayak a couple more miles up the Muskingdom River where a little motel has a dock. I really over did it today in the hopes of staying at motel and washing my dirty clothes. As it turns out, the Motel doesn't have a washing machine.
I'm going to need time to recover and heal up. I kayaked 47 miles today, which is beyond ridicules. I'm actually trying for 30-33 miles per day. A person with a regular kayak can usually travel 20-25 miles per day (or so I've been told).
